Bodegas Mureda ontleent zijn naam aan het Moorse kasteel La Casa Mureda gelegen in het vroegere Koninkrijk van Granada. Veel huizen en namen in de hele regio vertonen een grote Moorse invloed. Tegenwoordig richt men zich bij Bodegas Mureda op wijn en olijfolie. Valdepeñas is een van de meest productieve wijngebieden van Spanje. Bodegas Mureda heeft ruim 10.000 hectare wijnbouw, waarvan 1.000 hectare biologische wijngaarden, gelegen op ruim 900 meter boven de zeespiegel. Sommige gebouwen op de wijngaarden zijn meer dan 500 jaar oud en zijn hersteld in de oorspronkelijke staat. Mureda werkt met een groot respect voor de natuur en bezit de grootste oppervlakte aan biologische wijngaarden in Spanje. De hele organisatie werkt vanuit een duurzame en milieuvriendelijke gedachte.

Bodegas Mureda takes its name from the Moorish castle La Casa Mureda located in the former Kingdom of Granada. Many houses and names throughout the region have a strong Moorish influence. Nowadays Bodegas Mureda focuses on wine and olive oil. Valdepeñas is one of the most productive wine regions in Spain. Bodegas Mureda has more than 10,000 hectares of viticulture, of which 1,000 hectares are organic vineyards, located at more than 900 meters above sea level. Some buildings on the vineyards are more than 500 years old and have been restored to their original state.
